To bring to light, the Legacy of Kindness, Generosity, Caring, Warmth, Love and Charity that embodied Elvis Aaron Presley during his lifetime, through the joint efforts, world-wide, of his enduring fans by 'coming together' in groups small and large, in their hometowns around the world, on August 16, 2002, the 25th Anniversary of his passing, and each yearthereafter on this date and time, all singing the title song from his first movie, "Love Me Tender", that sent a message of love to the world; all participants singing 'together' for 15 minutes, around the world, beginning at the exact same moment in time: 9 p.m. ET, 8 p.m. CT, 7 p.m. MT, 6 p.m. PT, etc. etc. in the U.S. and around the world. Also, atthis time, bringing Teddy bears and canned food goods to gather and distribute the toys to the local hospital's children's Burn Units and the food goods to the local Homeless and Needy Food Banks all in the name of Elvis Aaron Presley, with the intent of creating an International Holiday to be observed on this date, August 16th and each year thereafter, which is so appropriate and befitting a man of this stature.

- The cult of celebrity: St Elvis is still in the building Aug 6, 2004
by Stephen R. Reimer
(University of Alberta)
In the case of certain celebrities ... such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis or the Princess of Wales, a combination of factors appears to catapult mere celebrity adulation into a kind of civic and secular worship: a rise to stardom from ordinary beginnings, success and glamour coupled with vulnerability and apparent need, an excess of photographic representation (coupled with gossipy details about their private lives, leading to a widespread imagined intimacy), and an untimely and senseless death.
- Chronicles of Love and Resentment
by Eric Gans
(Chronicles: No. 114: Saturday, October 25, 1997)
'... Celebrity being a form of sacrality, it is no doubt natural that those fascinated by it wish to define its significance in transhistorical terms. Jonathan Alter did this in the September 15 Newsweek in prose that already seems delirious: "Diana is now the first woman to join a tiny group of 20th-century megastars in the English-speaking world: Charles Lindbergh, Babe Ruth, Winston Churchill, Muhammad Ali, JFK, Elvis Presley, Michael Jordan..." Wasn't Greta Garbo or Marilyn Monroe a "megastar"? Babe Ruth died nearly 50 years ago; who will remember Princess Di in 2047, and for what? No, the very point of celebrity, as opposed to fame -- what distinguishes Di from the other names on the list -- is that it is contestable and contentious. ... Our lack of "heroes" is a sign not of the lack of heroism in our age, but of our lack of interest in recognizing it. Thus our age prefers celebrity to fame. ...'
- Celebrity and myth
By Toby Howard
(The Skeptic, 5.3, 1995)
'Such is the cult of the modern celebrity, that for many people it is impossible to accept that the Grim Reaper has closed the dressing room door for the last time. The worship of Elvis Presley, for example, is as strong (if not stronger) in 1991 as at his death in 1977. There are a multitude of books which `prove' that Elvis faked his own death, snuck off to a tropical life in South America, and still telephones his fans now and then. ...'

- FBI witness: Presley clan staged Elvis grave-robbing: Informant says pop hatched plot to move King's plot to Graceland
(WorldNet Daily, August 15 2002)
An FBI informant involved in a plot to steal Elvis Presley's body shortly after the rock idol died 25 years ago claims the Presley family staged the grave-robbing to persuade Memphis officials to move him from the public cemetery to Graceland, now a $15 million-a-year tourist attraction.
- Is Elvis Presley Alive?
(Jesse: The Post-Death Adventures of Elvis Presley)
"There are many reasons to believe that Elvis Presley is dead. When the only arguments to believe otherwise come from crazed fans and supermarket tabloids, it is easy to dismiss the possibility that the King is still among us. However, the circumstances surrounding Elvis's alleged death are quite mysterious and beg closer attention. As it turns out, there are many concrete reasons to believe that the King is still alive."

(Online Opinion, February 11 2004)
"... Was Princess Di's death really an accident? Did George W. Bush have advance warning of the events of September the 11th? Did Elvis fake his own death? ... conspiracy theories, as a class, can not and should not be so easily dismissed. This is because many conspiracy theories are actually very plausible. ... if Elvis was still alive then it would be reasonable to expect some reliable evidence to have come to light regarding his whereabouts, over the last quarter of a century ... All the evidence - or rather absence of evidence - that we now have, points to the conclusion that Elvis is not alive. ..."
